Seated in the Drivers seat…

I sat watching out the window at my favorite writing locale…Barnes and Noble this morning and saw a very diminutive woman getting back into her car. She was a petite little thing; little bitty bird bones…tiny hands and she stood all of 4’11” tall. You can imagine my surprise then when she got to her vehicle…a huge truck with big knobby tires and dual exhaust pipes. As she sat up in the cab of that big truck, she turned the key and started the engine and the huge truck came to life.

The truck rocked as she put her foot down on the accelerator and as she backed out of her parking spot, put the vehicle in drive and started toward the exit of the parking lot, I saw a parallel and it stuck me hard.

That little woman, who probably weighed less than one hundred pounds was in command of a vehicle that probably weighed three to four thousand pounds. Where ever she turned the wheel she went, and if she punched the accelerator, that truck obeyed her command and roared down the road doing 80 miles an hour. Who she was and what she weighed was negligible because she had placed herself within the truck many times more powerful than she was in herself. In her natural body, she could do little harm, but inside of the giant truck, her size was not important. She could run over anything that couldn’t outrun her…

You and I are flesh and blood human beings with no chance…NO CHANCE whatsoever against the powerful powers and principalities of this world. (Ephesians 6:12) The spiritual forces in heavenly places could crush us like worms in our natural bodies. Sickness would be able to rack our bodies with impunity and our minds would be driven to madness by the demonic sounds of unspeakable horror that would come against us.

Unless that little woman that I saw this morning knew Krav Maga or Kung Fu or some other martial art, I would be able to slap her around with no problem. She would be powerless to stop me unless she had a gun or had some way to physically stop me from harming her.

That is…until she got into the truck. Once she got into that truck, put it in Drive and pointed it in my direction, I would have to run for my life, because it was the power and speed of that truck, directed by a hundred pound woman, that was going to mash me into a grease spot on the pavement. The truck was directed by the person in the drivers seat.

Satan and his henchmen are very powerful entities. The power of an Archangel and demonic beings with thousands of times more strength than puny humans bring torment and destruction to us day in and day out. Add to this, they have been watching you your whole life…add to this, they know by having watched you, how you think and what your going to do. Add to this they are SPIRITUAL in nature, meaning they cannot be destroyed, whereas you and I are fleshly small fries that can be stomped like the cockroaches we are…at least in their sight.

That is until…ha,ha…hahaha…we take our seat in Christ Jesus! Jesus is no pick up truck with big wheels. He is a Turnpike Double Truck, consisting of two 48 foot trailers that can weigh up to 147,000 pounds!!!! Add to this he is turbo charged. Add to this… IT FLYS, add to this it has spirit melting laser beams that come out of every side. Add to this, He has demon tracking software and just for fun, He lets you drive the thing!!! He tells you “don’t bother aiming…just pull the trigger!”

He tells you,

“SPEAK AND I WILL DESTROY THOSE PATHETIC LITTLE BEGGARS!”  So, being seated with Christ Jesus in heavenly places, you discover where the laser buttons are located and you begin to play “Wipeout” on them! “I have been crucified with Christ, and yet, I live , yet not I but Christ who lives within me!!!” Your eyes bug out like Lieutenant Dan in a hurricane, laughing wildly as you place a bullseye on the back of a demon peeing himself as he runs from you and you pull the trigger! Dear God I love that imagery!!! No mercy….you filthy animal!

They weren’t expecting that!!! “That’s not fair’ they whimper…but Jesus, laughing in the cab with you shouts back, “My trial and torture weren’t fair either, but I took it like a man!” Now take this! You call on the name above all names…the name of Jesus Christ and you begin speaking scripture out loud. You declare that “The whole earth will be filled with the glory of the Lord like the waters cover the sea!!!” A demon shouts to his friends, “We are all out of Depends…every man for himself!” Hundreds and thousands of demonic hosts fill their pants as they run in terror because this Jesus, the Son of God has someone who looks like Him sitting in the drivers seat! They can’t tell if it’s Jesus or if it’s you, but it doesn’t matter because right now they only know that you have your finger on the trigger. They just have to RUN!!!

Yes, all of that from a little old lady getting into her son’s monster truck at Barnes and Noble. I’m not crazy… well, maybe I am, but every time you are seated with Christ in Heavenly places and you take your authority and use Scripture to speak over your life, this is played out for real. The enemy of your soul HAS NO DEFENSE against a man or woman who speak God’s Word over their circumstances. When you BELIEVE the authority of God’s Word as you turn the key to that Turnpike Double Truck, His Word comes to life…

and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might 20 which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.” Ephesians 1:19-21

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:12

“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7

“For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart”. Hebrews 4:12

“No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it”.1 Corinthians 10:13

Happy Hunting!!! Bwahahahaha!!!!!

  1. Thank you for the amazing belly laugh I got when I read the description of the truck driven by Jesus! You are amazing! Do the folks in Detroit sell this truck? If so, sign me up! Oh, wait, by accepting Jesus, I already did sign up! Your rock brother!
